Di nuovo in calendario, dopo il recupero obbligato dello scorso Ottobre (QUI il relativo post) che aveva permesso di ovviare al rinvio forzato da pandemia dell’edizione 2020.. i “Billboard Music Awards“, questa volta in scena di presenza ma dal “Microsoft Theater” sempre a Los Angeles, nella cerimonia di consegna valida per il 2021 hanno visto fare gli onori di casa al cantante Nick Jonas, cerimoniere della serata e protagonista sul black carpet con la moglie attrice, Priyanka Chopra.. che ha sfilato accanto a lui in Dolce & Gabbana.

Il più ricco bottino, dopo la cocente delusione ricevuta con l’esclusione per lui incomprensibile agli ultimi “Grammys” (QUI), ha incoronato trionfatore “The Weeknd”.. risultato, nell’ordine, “Top Artist” e “Top Male Artist”, Top Hot 100 Artist”, “Top Radio Songs Artist”, Top R&B Artist” eTop R&B Male Artist”.. premiato con l’ultimo lavoro, “After Hours”, come “Top R&B Album”.. davanti a tutti per il brano “Blinding Lights”, nelle categorie..Top Hot 100 Song”, Top Radio Song” e Top R&B Song”.. ed arrivato a presentare dal vivo il nuovo pezzo, “Save Your Tears”. Come “Artist of the Decade”, riconoscimento che ha ritirato con al fianco il figlioletto di 3 anni, ha ricevuto meritata consegna il rapper Drake.. mentre il prestigioso “Icon Award”, negli anni scorsi attribuito alle colleghe Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Cher e Celine Dion, è stato ritirato da un’altra donna, Pink, introdotta da Jon Bon Jovi ed in volo nella performance aerea condotta con la figlia.

Ma si sono esibiti, on stage, anche.. Alicia Keys, presente con un medley.. i “BTS” e, naturalmente, i “Jonas Brothers”, chiamati questi ultimi a chiudere con Marshmello ed ascoltati nelle nuove..  “Leave Before You Love Me” e “Remember This”.. ed, invece, Machine Gun Kelly, gratificato con il “Top Rock Artist” ed il “Top Rock Album”, ha esibito la sua lingua colorata di nero alla passerella fatta in coppia con la fidanzata Megan Fox (QUI, QUI e QUI), a sua volta strizzata in un mini abito di trasparenze e nude firmato Thierry Mugler.
