Di nuovo assegnati dalla “MGM Grand Garden Arena” di Las Vegas, nello stato del Nevada.. i “Billboard Music Awards“, in questa edizione 2019, hanno visto trionfare ieri notte.. su tutti.. il rapper Drake, che ha fatto incetta di riconoscimenti grazie alle vendite dell‘ultimo album, “Scorpion”, e alla sua “In My Feelings”, classificandosi perciò in vetta come “miglior artista”, “miglior artista maschile” e “miglior artista rap”. E’ “Girls Like You”, il brano dei “Maroon 5” (QUI) cantato in collaborazione con Cardi B, la canzone più venduta e suonata alla radio.. ma sono stati premiati anche.. gli “Imagine Dragons”, come “migliori artisti rock”.. Ariana Grande come “miglior artista donna”.. Travis Scott e, in maniera postuma per il “miglior album R&B”, il rapper XXXTentacion.
Le performances più discusse, sopra e fuori il palco, sono state quelle di Taylor Swift, che ha portato il singolo “ME!”.. e quella decisamente più provocante di Madonna, che con Maluma in Dsquared2, si è esibita in “Medellin” tratto dall’album di prossima uscita “Madame X”.. Infine, è stato consegnato a Mariah Carey, che ha cantato “Hero” in un medley dei suoi maggiori successi, il prestigioso “Icon Award”, prima di lei andato a Janet Jackson, Cher e Celine Dion.
